JANXX

JANXX was born in the UK and moved to North Carolina when she was thirteen. She grew up singing in the Cathedral choir in a small town called Arundel, and has always been interested in vocal harmonies and choral arrangements. She got into electronic music in her teens, and started to produce her own tracks after finding a beat up old MPC at a pawn shop.

Now she writes, produces and records her own original soultronica music in her home studio She is recording constantly and preparing a live road production to support her singles and new EP scheduled to drop in early 2017. Janxx is of a unique breed who writes, arranges, and produces her own records and has the stage presence and raw talent and skill to back it up in live concerts. Byond her groovy original tracks, she performs a set of carefully selected re-makes from her repertoire of covers treating them to a complete re-work, morphing the familiar tune into her own brand of Soultronica.

She records, mixes, and masters in her cozy Durham, NC home audio lab accompanied by her two sweet, lazydogs.. It should be recognized that JANXX is not just a bad-ass in the studio and on stage… but also behind the camera! Most of her music videos have been made hands-on, even shooting and editing the videos herself to have her complete creative vision fulfilled.

The 2016 underground breakout 'hit' for JANXX was, 'Mrs. Elevator'. The smart lyric and tune was selected to be the featured song in a remix contest by Indaba Music in New York City. More than 200 producers around the world competed to make their own renditions of "Mrs. Elevator" from her stem tracks.

JANXX has also been chosen to license several her productions to Microsoft for their Developer’s Song Library. In the "live" realm, JANXX has played live looping concerts on the East Coast of the US as well as a handful of UK shows recently. She's ramping up for a busy year and is invited to record in Berlin and play live concerts around Germany, and central Europe. Cool opportunities are presenting themselves for JANXX in 2017 and it's "only going up, top floor - no stops".
