Old Sap

Old Sap is a banjoist and singer-songwriter. Born and raised in Chicago, he grew his musical roots in Bigfork, Montana at playing throughout the Pacific Northwest. Folk, Americana, and Old Time Blues best describe Sap's songs as they run the gamut from upbeat and rhythmic to soothing and contemplative.

Fast, old-timey clawhammer meets modern compositions and finger-picked songs telling stories of loss, joy, adventure, and uncertainty. Old Sap is currently based in Asheville, North Carolina and have appeared at such venues and festivals across the country as Red Ants Pants Music Festival 2017 (White Sulphur Springs, MT); Casey's (Whitefish, MT); 100+ bars, breweries, cafes, and music venues across Western Montana; Martyrs (Chicago, IL); Uncommon Ground (Chicago, IL). Old Sap was also a finalist for the 2017 Brown Bag Songwriting Contest in Asheville.
