RIK JAM

Born Ronaldo Ricketts in Fletcher’s Land, Kingston, Jamaica, Rik Jam is a prominent figure in the new wave of roots reggae. He began singing in church at age eight and later honed his vocal skills in the choir at St. Andrew Technical High School, where he was discovered by producer Phillip McFarlane during a band competition.

Known for his "music for the soul" approach, Rik Jam prioritizes clean, conscious lyrics that address societal issues like oppression while promoting faith and resilience. His career reached a significant milestone on August 1, 2025, with the release of his debut 14-track album, The Genesis, which features notable collaborations with artists like Eric Rachmany (of Rebelution) on the hit "Stereo". The album was highly acclaimed, earning him the title of 2025 Rising Artist of the Year by Daily Reggae. Rik Jam continues to perform globally, having toured the United States and Europe alongside legends like Burning Spear.
