The High & Mighties

THE HIGH AND MIGHTIES is a reggae influenced rock band from Chapel Hill, NC composed of players from various groups and ensembles that have been performing in the southeast for the last decade. They strive to create an atmosphere where we all celebrate the experience of the human situation. The inspiration for their material comes from friends, family and their own bands’ history.

With the sweet overshadowing bitter, their music deals with life, relationships and the pursuit of ever eluding happiness. A calculated turnaround by Belk in early 2006 – from being a “Sublime” cover band to only performing original material – coupled with a name change gave birth to a family of friends dubbed “The High & Mighties:. After cleaning up their act the new group is fresh out of the studio with the Evolution EP.

Singer/Guitarist Mark Belk’s songs inspired by the groups troubled past and boughts of failed “true love” sit well with his fan-base who appreciate The High & Mighties’ slickly-produced earworms. He often brings to life through his reggae-laced rock tunes the “late-nights” in Collegetown, USA. The future looks bright with instant college radio hits like “Candy Jar” and “Turn The Lights Down Low” and The High & Mighties are entering an era of luck and success.
