WAX WINGS

Established as a cornerstone of the Gainesville music scene, Wax Wings is a southern folk-rock quintet led by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Chelsea Carnes. The ensemble is celebrated for its intricate arrangements that blend traditional Americana with influences from folk-punk, jazz, and classical music, utilizing a diverse array of instruments including banjo, fiddle, upright bass, keys, and even sousaphone. Known for haunting, introspective lyrics and striking vocal harmonies, the band has performed at major regional events like the Gasparilla Music Festival and the Florida Folk Festival, and has even been featured on NPR.
