Pop & Soul — Mini road pass

DAY 1

Chicago: the band comes together

Morning

Meet your road managers in Chicago, collect your road pass and settle into the coach. Start with musical introductions and a route briefing before setting out as one traveling band.

Afternoon

Explore Chicago’s recording history through the Chess Records story and a scheduled heritage visit. Your guide connects the city’s blues traditions to the later development of rock, pop and soul. Pause for a meal and discussion rather than rushing from one stop to the next.

Evening

Enjoy dinner and a Chicago blues performance selected for the group. Listen for the exchanges between musicians and consider how they communicate without stopping the song. Overnight in Chicago.

Band together

Create the band’s name and first shared playlist, with a track contributed by every teammate.

DAY 2

Gary: hometown beginnings, then Detroit

Morning

Travel to Gary for a respectful exterior visit to the Jackson family’s childhood home and an introduction to the Jackson 5 story. This is a neighborhood stop rather than a promise of entry into a private residence.

Afternoon

Continue to Detroit, with a meal break and music-history listening aboard the coach. Follow the connections between family performance, recording, choreography and the work behind a polished show.

Evening

Arrive in Detroit, settle into the overnight stay and gather for dinner. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a local performance or a shorter hosted listening session with your road managers.

Band together

Rotate small travel-day responsibilities so everyone helps the group stay connected and ready for the next stop.

DAY 3

Detroit: inside the Motown story

Morning

Explore Hitsville U.S.A. through a scheduled Motown Museum visit, subject to the available tour program. Discover the people, recording practices and songs associated with a sound that reached audiences worldwide.

Afternoon

Take time for lunch, group reflection and further Detroit music context. Road managers lead a listening session that highlights the relationship between singers, instrumentalists, writers and production teams.

Evening

Experience a Detroit live show selected around the group’s interests and the performance calendar. Share dinner and compare the day’s recordings with the energy of a live ensemble. Overnight in Detroit.

Band together

Build a short group rhythm or vocal piece, making space for supporting roles as well as lead voices.

DAY 4

Cleveland: the wider story of rock and soul

Morning

Travel to Cleveland with a music-history film or guided listening session aboard the coach. Bring together the Chicago, Gary and Detroit stories before the final museum visit.

Afternoon

Explore the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, allowing teammates to follow personal interests before regrouping around shared discoveries. Enjoy a final meal and closing session. The tour ends at the agreed Cleveland departure point.

Evening

Depart or extend your stay. The source itinerary’s House of Blues evening can be considered as an optional extension during planning, subject to the performance schedule.

Band together

Finish with a group appreciation circle and a playlist that tells the story of the four-day journey.
